ইসলামী ইতরামির মাত্রা কতোটা সীমাহীন, তার আরও একটি জলজ্যান্ত উদাহরণ: নাইন ইলেভেনে মুসলিম জঙ্গিদের আক্রমণে ধ্বংস হয়ে যাওয়া ওয়ার্ল্ড ট্রেড সেন্টারের অদূরে একশো মিলিয়ন ডলার ব্যয়ে তেরোতলা ইসলামিক কালচারাল সেন্টার (ভেতরে মসজিদ অতি অবশ্য) নির্মাণের পরিকল্পনা করেছে মুসলমানেরা এবং, খুব সম্ভব, মুসলিমভীতিতে আতঙ্কিত হয়েই (বা অন্য কোনও কারণে) নগরপতিরা অনুমতিও দিয়েছে। কোরদোবা হাউস নামের এই আলিশান দালানটি কবে উদ্বোধন করার পরিকল্পনা, জানেন? আগামী বছর সেপ্টেম্বরের এগারো তারিখে। হ্যাঁ, হ্যাঁ, নাইন ইলেভেনের দশম বার্ষিকীতে! কতোটা বেহায়া আর নির্লজ্জ হলে এমন পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়নের স্পর্ধা ও ধৃষ্টতা দেখাতে পারে কেউ!
আমেরিকায় এ নিয়ে প্রতিবাদ শুরু হয়েছে ইতোমধ্যে। স্পষ্টভাষী প্যাট কন্ডেল ব্রিটেন থেকে যোগ দিয়েছেন সেই প্রতিবাদে। তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

America is a big country and there is plenty of room for them to build their offensive mosque if they have to; somewhere else. Somewhere perhaps more appropriate to the spirit of their religion, like the Arizona Desert, or Death Valley.

একবার স্পেনের Seville-এ শহর কর্তৃপক্ষ স্থানীয় বাসিন্দাদের প্রতিবাদ উপেক্ষা করে এক জায়গায় মসজিদ তৈরির অনুমদি দেয়। কয়েকজন স্থানীয় অধিবাসী ওই নির্দিষ্ট স্থানের ঠিক মধ্যিখানে একটি শুয়োরকে কবর দিয়ে সেটির সচিত্র সংবাদ ছড়িয়ে দেয় চারপাশে। মুসলিমরা তাদের প্রজেক্ট গুটিয়ে নিতে বাধ্য হয়
